Terre Haute, Indiana - TERRE HAUTE - Janakiamma Nallapareddy completed her life on January 17, 2026, at the age of 66. She is survived by her husband Dr. Subba Reddy Puchalapalli, her children Avinash (Rohita) and Meghana Puchalapalli, and countless friends who she was grateful to consider her family.

Janaki was born in Ethamukkala, Andra Pradesh, a small village in south India, in December 1959. She was the first woman in her village to pursue a higher education, and ultimately graduated from Andhra University with a Master's Degree in Library Science. Later on in Terre Haute, that same determined and independent spirit led her to open Edible Bouquets by Janaki in 2012. Around the same time, she also joined the ISU Community Garden, where she lovingly maintained three plots for over a decade. Janaki cherished the community she grew and cultivated in Terre Haute.

The Puchalapalli family will be hosting a Celebration of Life lunch at St. George Orthodox Church on Saturday, January 31, at noon. All friends and family are welcome and appreciated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the ISU Community Garden. Checks can be made out to the ISU Foundation with a note for the check to go into the "Friends of the ISU Community Garden Fund."
