James "Oliver" Williams, 77, of Sullivan, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Sullivan County Community Hospital. He was born on Dec. 24, 1938, south of Linton, to Ivan and Hazel (Allen) Williams. Oliver married Barbara Joslin on Oct. 31, 1959.
Oliver, as he was best known, was a man of faith who loved his family dearly. He was a member of the NRA, he loved to fish, read Louis L'Amour western novels and shoot skeet.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. Williams; one son, Jim (Sara) Williams of Linton; two daughters, Gail (Doug) Bowman of Lawrenceville, Ill., and Rhonda (Don) Eyler of Terre Haute; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Mike (Diann) Williams of Sandborn and Steve (Donna) Williams of Rockville; a sister, Jane Williams of Sandborn; and several nieces and nephews.
Oliver was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Lebanon Baptist Church in Midland, with Pastor Mike Rotman officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday, April 9, 2016, from 10 until 11 a.m. The family has entrusted James W.
