TERRE HAUTE - James Ray Cooper Sr., age 82, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024. He was born on May 18, 1942 to Harold Cooper and Vivian Burton Cooper.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Cooper; his son, Tom Cooper and wife Shelly; daughter, Linda Lippo and husband Joe; and stepchildren, Terry Kennedy and wife Brenda, Jeannie Cooper, Susan Kennedy, and Lana Massey; grandchildren: Jimmy Cooper, Jamie Lippo, Joey Lippo, Christopher Darling, Brooke James; four brothers: Ron, Joe, John, Dennis; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; his son, James Ray Cooper, Jr.; brother, Gary Cooper.
He was a avid outdoorsman. He loved to go mushroom hunting and fishing.
Jim owned the J&G Antiques and Music for 5 years.
He retired from Wabash Fiber Box.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home until time of service. Funeral service will begin at 1 PM with Pastor Bob Roush officiating. Burial will be at Sulfur Springs Cemetery.
