Terre Haute, Indiana - Henry Vincent Hoke, 78, passed away September 17, 2025, at his home in Anthony Square.
Henry was born May 1, 1947 in Linton, Indiana to Dallus Holtsclaw Hoke and Evelyn Hoke. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1965 and Indiana State University with a degree in history.
He served in the US Army and Indiana Army National Guard during the Vietnam War at Ft. Knox, Ft. Leonard Wood, and Ft. Sheridan. He was a hard worker and worked in many jobs throughout his life. Most recently, he was a dining attendant with Sodexo at ISU.
Henry had a prodigious memory and great knowledge of history, facts, and current events. He enjoyed reading, playing and watching sports, television, and collecting watches.
Henry was a fourth-generation member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was ordained an Elder and proud of his church membership.
Henry was a devoted son to his mother and cared for her until she passed at age 96. He was predeceased by his parents.
Henry is survived by his many friends through his work and Anthony Square; several cousins; close friend, April Woodward Newton; and recent caregiver, Shauna Rivas Guzman.
Visitation will be Thursday October 9, 2025 from 11:30am-12:00pm with a memorial service immediately following.

Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1845 North 6 1/2 Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
