Harry Earl Shepherd Jr., 77, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Nov. 22, 2018. He was born June 29, 1941, in Terre Haute, to Harry and Pauline (Kracy) Shepherd Sr.
Harry was a member of the Mason Lodge 86 of Terre Haute, the Moose Lodge, and Murdock Racing club. In his free time, he enjoyed farming, stock car racing, horse showing, and most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Harry is survived by his wife, Helen (Rogers) Shepherd; a daughter, Peggy Shepherd Carmichael and husband Kenny; a son, Harry E. Shepherd III and wife Sandra; his grandchildren, Crystal (Travis) Heramb, Kenny (Jessica) Carmichael, Stacey (Josh) Ford and Sara (Jonathan) Vanatti; his great-grandchildren, Keaton Heramb, Madison Ford, Kylie Vanatti and Garrison Ford; two sisters, Tharon (Gordon) Geckeler and Laura (Dave) Hof; special friends, Sandy and Kenny McMillin, who were like family and many more; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Family will accept friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2018. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart to Heart Hospice in Harry's name.
