Terre Haute, IN - TERRE HAUTE - Harold "Hal" Larsen Wingler, 82, of Terre Haute passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

He was born on September 7, 1943, in Terre Haute to Ernest Wingler and Lela Wanda Stevens Wingler. Hal proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retiring after 22 years and 7 months. He was a Navy Fleet Diesel Inspector. Hal was also selected to serve on the Presidential Yacht, USS Sequoia.

Hal was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed the simple things in life like mowing grass and spending time with the family. His presence will be sadly missed by so many.

Hal is survived by his loving wife of nearly 57 years, Lynne Davis Wingler; his children Connie Miller (Wayne), Michael Wingler, Brent Wingler, Christopher Wingler, and Daniel Wingler; grandchildren Michelle Anderson (Travis), Julie Campbell-Miller (Nichelle Campbell-Miller), Mikaela Lee Ann Wingler, Abigail Renee Wingler, and Grace Elizabeth Wingler; great-grandchildren Wayne Anderson, Amelia Anderson, Emersyn Anderson, Huxson Collins, and Everette Campbell-Miller; and siblings Ronald Wingler, Chloe Weyrauch (Mike), and Juanita Whiteman; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and youngest sister Julie Wingler.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Prairie Creek Westlawn Cemetery with military honors.
