Gerald Lacy 'Bucky' Gilbert Obituary
Gerald Lacy "Bucky" Gilbert went home to be with Lord on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at the age of 72. He was born Sept. 8, 1946, to Charles Gilbert and Mae Ola Brown, in Terre Haute, Indiana.
He was baptized at an early age at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. He attended Lincoln Elementary and Woodrow Wilson Jr. High, and graduated from Gerstmeyer Technical High School in 1964.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967, where he was honorably discharged. He was joined in holy matrimony to Patricia Underwood on July 8, 1966, the love of his life for 52 years. He retired from Pfizer after 27 years, then worked for Columbia Home Products for 11 years.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tonia Gilbert; and brother, Charles Gilbert. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Patricia Underwood Gilbert; daughters, Teresa "Teri" (Timothy) Gilbert-Bailey, Sherry Underwood and Vicky Underwood; sons, Gerald Jr., Harold Allen Jr., Vincent Allen and Aaron Edwards; sister, Joan Lewis; and a brother, Kenneth Gilbert; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Services are Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at 1 p.m., in the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, with calling from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., also in the church.
Interment in the Grandview Cemetery. Russell Funeral Home assisted.
