Terre Haute, Indiana - TERRE HAUTE - Gelaine (Gibbs) Wright passed away Friday, November 21, 2025. Gelaine was born in Vigo County on March 9, 1927. Her parents were Gail and Rosalee (Daniels) Gibbs. She was the first child of Gail and Rosalee Gibbs. Gelaine's brother Robert is deceased.
She graduated from Fontanet High School. She married Lloyd H. Wright in 1946. She helped Lloyd farm fields and care for farm animals.
She also helped pack boxes to send to our military.
She is a member of Berean Baptist Church.
Gelaine is survived by: Connie Conway, Lloyd G., and Danny and Bobby Wright, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gelaine may be seen at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home from 10 am to 2 pm Wednesday, November 26, 2025. The burial will be at Clear Run Cemetery in Bridgeton, Indiana.
A dinner will be held at the FACT building in Fontanet, Indiana following burial.
