Evelyn Delores Gibbs, 87, of Rockville, died at 5:37 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, in her residence. She was a former hairdresser, homemaker and retired from the Gooch's Dairy Frost. She was born Feb. 28, 1929, in Greene Township, Parke County, to the late Carl Gooch and Edith McMullen Gooch.

Her husband of 51 years, Walter "Bud" Gibbs, whom she married Feb. 5, 1950, in Judson, died April 4, 2001.

Survivors include two sons, David L. Gibbs (Glenna) of Terre Haute and Mark W. Gibbs (Sonja) of Wichita, Kan.; one daughter, Lisa K. Wilcox (Jim) of Rockville; six grandchildren, Nathan Gibbs, Emily Gibbs Carrillo, Jeremy Gibbs, Jason Wilcox, Christopher Wilcox and Lauren Kaus; seven great-grandchildren, Jacob Gibbs, Brooklynn Gibbs, Annabel Carrillo, Elijah Carrillo, MaKennah Wilcox-Kaus, Mason Wilcox and Liam Wilcox;

She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Larry and Gerald Gooch; two sisters, Ruby Jack and Rose Tarter; one great-grandson, Isaiah Thomas Jones.

She was a 1947 graduate of Greene Township High School and Smart Appearance Beauty College. She was a member of Rockville Christian Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with Brother Don Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville. Visitation is from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to Rockville Christian Church, 292 W.
