Terre Haute, Indiana - Elizabeth Ann Coons, 75, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute.

She was born on September 14, 1950, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to the late Stanley and Madeleine (Hemminghouse) Machango.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William R. "Bill" Coons, whom she married on September 6, 1969. Together they shared many years of love and cherished memories. She was also preceded in death by her beloved niece, Jessica Summer Stott; and her brother, Kim Machango.

Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by her children, Rodd Coons and Andrea (Michael) Moeller of Terre Haute, Indiana; her brother, Michael (Tammie) Machango of Ellettsville, Indiana; and her three sisters, Kathy (Rick) McDaniel of Terre Haute, Indiana, Julie Machango of Martinsville, Illinois, and Paula Machango of West Terre Haute, Indiana. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

She was especially proud of her three grandchildren, who meant the world to her: Caleb Coons (Carrie) and Liam Moeller, both of Rosedale, Indiana, and Addeline Moeller (Bradlee) of Coatesville, Indiana.

Her grandchildren were among her greatest joys, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She was their biggest supporter, faithfully attending countless baseball, football, basketball, and Academic Bowl competitions throughout the years. Whether cheering from the stands, celebrating their accomplishments, or simply being present, Grandma's love and encouragement were constant and unwavering. She took great pride in all their achievements and was always there to offer her support, love, and encouragement.

Her family was her greatest blessing, and the memories she created with them will be cherished forever. Elizabeth will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care for the compassionate care and support they provided during Elizabeth's final days.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at DeBaun Funeral Home, 85 E. Springhill Drive, Terre Haute, IN 47802.

Interment will be private and held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.
