Terre Haute, IN - TERRE HAUTE [mdash] Edward (Ed) John Stanisz went to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully in his sleep Sunday morning June 8, 2025.

Ed was born in Terre Haute, Indiana to John Stanisz and Laura (Ozok) Stanisz on September 26, 1933.

Ed attended St. Joseph grade school, Gerstmeyer High School and Indiana State University.

Ed married Delores Elaine (Siner) Stanisz at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Terre Haute, Indiana July 2, 1955 and were married 55 years until Elaine's death in 2010.

Ed was also preceded in death by daughter Teresa Marie Stanisz, brother Raymond Stanisz, and granddaughter Morgan Stanisz.

Ed is survived by his loving sister Liz Beck, son John D. Stanisz (Liza), daughter Debbie K. Poynter, and a son Edward D. Stanisz (Tammy).

Ed is also survived by grandchildren, Kristen B. Stanisz Bendo (Scott), Inglewood, California, Jon M. Stanisz (Ashley), Terre Haute, Indiana, Lindsay Poynter, Plainfield, Indiana, and Lauren and Bryce Stanisz, West Lafayette, Indiana; great-grandchildren Rylee McKenzie, Plainfield, Indiana, and River Stanisz, Terre Haute, Indiana; and special friend Judy Mullican who Ed shared his life with during recent years.

Ed was a kind man who was happy to talk with everyone he met.

Ed was a Store Manager for the Kroger Grocery Stores for twenty years, and worked at Indiana State University in Purchasing for fifteen years. Later he opened and operated the Sycamore Deli in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Ed was the owner of Visual Connection selling retail items at locations such as the Indianapolis Gift and Hobby Show, the Flower and Patio Show, the Covered Bridge Festival and other locations.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 12 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at DeBaun Funeral Home, Terre Haute, Indiana.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 13 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Terre Haute where he was a lifelong member, led by Father Bob Showers. Burial will take place following mass at Calvary Cemetery in Terre Haute, Indiana. A lunch will follow at Union Christian Church in Terre Haute.
