West Terre Haute, Indiana - WEST TERRE HAUTE - Edward Leo "Ed" Krischak, 83, of West Terre Haute, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Harrison's Crossing.

He was born March 31, 1942, in Terre Haute to Leo Krischak and Margaret "Lucille" Harvey Krischak.

Ed earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a master's + 30 hours from Indiana State University. He was a teacher at West Vigo High School for 35 years, teaching Driver's Education and Vocation Education. He also coached football and was inducted into the West Vigo Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013, for the 1971 football season. He retired from teaching in 2002.

Ed was a 700 club bowler; he participated in leagues in Terre Haute Bowling Center and Vigo Bowl. He traveled to all 50 states and played golf all over the US. He was a huge Cardinals baseball fan. He also enjoyed fishing. Ed was an avid walker averaging five miles per day. Ed was on the first little league team in West Terre Haute.

Ed is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 63 years, Judith Carpenter Krischak; his children, Ted Krischak and wife, Laine, Robbin Stewart and husband, Jim, and Holly Meehan and husband, Jeff. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tanner, Samantha and husband Greg, Keaton, Kaylie, Patrick, and Abigail; and great-granddaughter, Lillian, whom he called "The Light of his Life."

Ed was preceded in death by his parents.

In honor of Ed's wishes, cremation has been chosen with inurnment of cremated remains at a later date in Pleasantview Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the Sycamore Winery, 1320 Durkees Ferry Road, West Terre Haute, Indiana from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
