Rockville, Indiana - ROCKVILLE - Dr. Peggy Sankey, MD, 84, of Rockville, Indiana passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, in her residence. She was a family physician with Parke Clinic serving Rockville, Clinton, and Cayuga. She also served as a pathologist at Terre Haute Regional Hospital and Union Hospital Clinton.

She was born April 5, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Charles Origen Sankey and Helen Marie Schults Sankey.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Frank Swaim; also, children, Anne Marie Swaim of Rockville, John (Patty) Swaim of Red Bluff, California, Parke (Amy) Swaim of Rockville and Pamela (Jose) Swaim-Mejia of Terre Haute; and three grandchildren, Origen, Austin, and Adam Swaim.

She was a graduate of Riley High School, Indiana State University, and Indiana University School of Medicine and served her residency in pathology. She was a member of the American Medical Association and Vigo Parke Vermillion County Medical Society.

Services will be 10:00 am Friday, December 15, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with Ted Bradburn officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation is 4-8 pm Thursday at Gooch Funeral Home. Memorials, should friends so desire, may be made to the Indiana State University-IU School of Medicine, 30 N. 5th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47809 in her memory.
