Bloomingdale, Indiana - BLOOMINGDALE - Doug Falls, 57, of Bloomingdale, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in Indianapolis. He was a Sgt. First Class currently working at Stout Field National Guard Headquarters for COVID-19 relief in Indianapolis. He was born November 27, 1963 in Clinton, Indiana, to Robert Falls and Beverly Hardman Falls.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Stacey Newlin Falls whom he married July 26, 2003 in West Union; also surviving, his parents of Mecca; daughter, Gabby Falls of Bloomingdale; son, Nathan (Heather) Falls of Montezuma; sister, Denice (Lenny) Krupa of Terre Haute; brother, Greg (Jessica) Falls of Mecca; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Vicki Newlin of Bloomingdale; sister-in-law, Marci (Mark) Graves of Bloomingdale; three grandchildren, Justice, Liberty and Abraham Falls; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was a 1981 graduate of Montezuma High School serving as Senior Class President and received an associate's degree in substance abuse counseling. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1981 and served six years aboard the USS Sides as a welder and hull technician. He later joined the Indiana National Guard and served until present day with 27 years of service. He was a gunnery sergeant with Bravo Battery 2-150 FA BN. He also served on emergency relief for Hurricane Katrina. He was also employed in the maintenance department for Hilton Garden Inn, Terre Haute.

His loves in life were family, military, softball, hunting and fishing.

Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with Rev. Donna Hardesty officiating. Burial with military graveside honors by the Indiana National Guard will follow in Bloomingdale Friends Cemetery. Visitation is from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm Saturday, January 2, at Gooch Funeral Home. Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to a college fund to be established for his daughter, Gabby Falls. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
