ROCKVILLE - Doris L. Newton, 87, of Rockville, passed away at 2:16 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at Clinton Gardens. She was a retired vice president of the Rockville National Bank with 40 years of service. She was born April 28, 1931, in Nyesville, to the late Joseph Pugh and Bessie Beatty Pugh.

Her husband of 60 years, Paul B. Newton, whom she married Nov. 5, 1949, in Indianapolis, passed away Oct. 2, 2010.

Survivors include two sons, Bill R. (Jody) Newton of Rochester, and Joe W. (Betsy) Newton of Waveland; one sister, Frieda Kent of Kingman; four grandchildren, Blake (Amy) Newton, Billy (Regan) Newton, Nancy (Timmy) Coleman and Eric (Hanna) Newton; five great-grandchildren, Graceyn, Griffin, Gil, Gates and Greyson.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Carl Pugh, Harold De Pugh and Robert De Pugh; and one sister, Betty Carnine.

She was a 1949 graduate of Marshall High School. She was a member of the Rockville Christian Church and the Friendship Sunday school class.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard St., Rockville, with the Rev. Greg Robbins officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville.
