Dunnellon, FL - Donald Charles Rininger, 91, passed away peacefully in Dunnellon, Florida.

Born in Alliance, Ohio, Don developed a lifelong love of learning that shaped both his education and career. He earned a bachelor's degree from Mount Union College, and a master's degree and Ph.D. from Indiana University. He spent much of his professional life as a university administrator at Indiana State University. Don also proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Don will be remembered as a devoted husband and father. He and his beloved wife, Jane, shared 64 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love and shared adventures.

A lifelong cyclist, Don enjoyed countless long-distance rides, including one from Terre Haute to Gainesville, Florida. In retirement, he enjoyed riding the scenic trails of Central Florida with family and friends.

Don is survived by his wife, Jane; his son, Steven; his sisters, Carol, Janice, and Jeanne; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, David; his parents, Paul and Viola Rininger; and his brother, Gary.
