TERRE HAUTE - Darryl "Steven" Wilkey, 68, of Terre Haute died Wednesday, February 9, 2022, in Union Hospital surrounded by his wife and children.
Steven enjoyed spending time with his wife, going to ISU basketball games, bragging about his grandchildren, and having coffee with his "good buddy" Fred Higgins.
He retired from Ivy Hill Packaging after 35 years of hard work to support his family.
He was born September 15, 1953, in Terre Haute to Raymond Wilkey and Fairie Pound Wilkey.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, A. Charlene Coleman Wilkey; two children, Eric (Ruby) Wilkey and Jennifer (Troy) Kirkham; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Kasi) Oxendine, Megan (David) Piper, Emily Wilkey, Peyton Kirkham and Allie Kirkham; four great-grandchildren, Elijah Bose, Liam Bose, Skyler Wilkey, and Nikolai Piper; one brother, Donald (Kathleen) Wilkey, one sister, Dorothy (Jim) Yount; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 6 PM at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, with Pastor Brett Parks officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. until time of services at the funeral home.
