Clara Irene (Sparks) Bland Coverstone, 91, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 9:30 P.M. Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN surrounded by her family.

She was born January 1, 1931 in Lewis, IN to Harry Sparks and Bessie (Bedwell) Sparks.

Clara married Donald Coverstone; he passed away in 2000.

Survivors include her children, Darla Cottom of Terre Haute, IN, Renita Secrest (Jeff) of Jasonville, IN, Dana Coverstone (Jennifer) of Burkesville, KY; grandchildren, Travis Coleman (Danielle), Brandon Coleman (Jessi), Brooke Cox (Dustin), Brittany Chambers (Brandon), Keilah Coverstone, Micah Coverstone (Gema), Hannah Coverstone; great-grandchildren, Lacy Prell, Hallee Watters, Layla Coleman, Duran Coleman, Adin Cox, Blake Cox, Oakley Chambers, Bristol Chambers, Taten Chambers, Chloe Boyd; great-great-granddaughter, Kyzer Williams; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Darin Coverstone; sisters, Betty Sluder, June Mathers; brother, George Sparks (Jeannie); son-in-law, Chris Cottom.

Clara graduated Midland High School Class of 1948. Clara worked at a variety of jobs. She was secretary at Midland School, for Poe & Krutt Drug Store in Jasonville, Lane Bryant in Indianapolis, Columbia Records in Terre Haute and Jasonville Cord Co. in Jasonville. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, word finds, watching TV especially Gunsmoke. She loved her chocolate and going to yard sales. Clara was an active member of Jasonville Assembly of God Church. She loved her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, great-great-granddaughter, Kyzer.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, IN. Visitation was scheduled from 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday, March 31, 2022 and will be 10 A.M. until service time Friday, April 1, 2022 at the funeral home. Funeral services are 1 P.M. Friday with Pastor Dana Coverstone, Pastor Micah Coverstone and Pastor Sam Bush officiating.

Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN.
