HILLSDALE - Charles Leo Conner, age 82, of Hillsdale, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Chuck was born September 2, 1939 in Paris, Illinois to Percy McDaniel and Mary Jones McDaniel. He was adopted by Doyne Russ Conner at the age of 5.

He served his country in the US Army, and US Army Reserves. Chuck was the owner of Knot and Splinter Carpentry, and retired in 2006 as a Master Trim Carpenter.

He married Karen Jean Williams on September 21, 1962. Chuck and Jean followed their daughter to Florida, where they resided for 24 years, before following Kella to Tennessee for 11 years. They returned to Indiana in 2016.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul Conner and Delbert Conner; a sister, Barbara Stultz; and his best friend, Verne Kispert.

Surviving are his wife, Jean; daughter, Kella Herrick and husband Rich of Crawfordsville; a granddaughter, Kelsea Lucas Kwasneski, and husband James of Florida; a sister, Lora Thomas of Indianapolis; and several nieces, nephews, cous- ins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
