BRAZIL - Charles Wayne Blackford, 88, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away following a brief stay at Cloverleaf of Knightsville, on January 13, 2022.

Charlie was born on October 24, 1933, in Clinton, Indiana, the son of Charles H. and Mary E. (Craft) Blackford. He graduated from Montezuma High School with the class of 1953.

Following high school, he served his country in the United States Navy as a Sea- bee. He was honorably discharged in 1957. He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Brazil. He worked for Indiana Bell as lineman and technician. He retired on May 31, 1991, after 38 years of service.

He was a member and Past Master of Parke County Lodge 8 and the Scottish Rite Lodge of Terre Haute. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling and spending time with family and friends.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mary Blackford; his wife Violet Blackford; and a brother Donald Ray Blackford.

Charlie is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Tamyra and Tim Rogers of Brazil; granddaughter Kayla Nichole Withers and fiancé Daniel Westfall; great-grandchildren: Haley Rae Withers, Nathan Scott Withers, and Kayliana Grace Westfall; step-grandchildren: Chandler Westfall and Breven Westfall; and niece and nephews: David Blackford, Chuck Blackford, and Beth Brooks; as well as several extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Lawson - Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., Brazil, IN 47834, on Monday, January 17, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Services will follow at 3:00 PM. Burial will be held at Clearview Cemetery.
