Terre Haute, Indiana - Carroll H. Harden passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026. She was born May 12, 1928 to John and Allissia Day Hart. She married Joy M. Harden on February 27, 1949.
After graduating High School, she attended Franklin College and Indiana State Teachers College. She worked for North Lawrence Community School Corporation as an Instructional Assistant, and Clay Community School Corporation as an Instructional Assistant and Cafeteria Manager until retirement.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Everwelcome Extension Homemakers Club, and Bowling Green Order of Eastern Star Lodge #304.
She is survived by her son John and wife Marilyn, daughter Elena Gerber and husband Jeff, grandchildren Jamie Lowder and husband John, Jimmy Harden and wife Elizabeth, Alex Gerber and wife Alicia, and Ashlee Gerber; nine great-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, granddaughter Tobi Lynn Gerber, and two brothers and sisters-in-law.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Schoppenhorst Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Nathan Couch officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. before the service. Burial will follow at Beech Cemetery.
