Carol Lynn Hutz Obituary
Terre Haute, IN - TERRE HAUTE - Carol Lynn Hutz passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. Carol was born on March 15, 1942, to Dolores and Gunar Moe in Brooklyn, New York.
Upon graduating from the University of Connecticut, Carol met her husband, Chuck, while both worked at Pfizer, where Carol was on the Pfizer women's basketball team that Chuck coached. After settling down in Terre Haute, Carol dedicated many years of her life to serving others as a substitute teacher in the Vigo County School System, a role that reflected her patience and commitment to her community.
Carol found great joy in time spent with her family. She especially loved watching her grandchildren's athletic competitions, cheering them on with pride and never afraid to let the officials know when the wrong call had been made.
Carol will be remembered for her kindness and love of her family. She is survived by her husband, Chuck; her brothers, Doug and Donald; her sons, Chris (Pascale), Jeff (Katy), and Matt (Lisa); her daughter, Susan (John); and her beloved grandchildren: Max, Madeleine, Benny, Ellie, Charlotte, Hadley, Cullen, Gunnar, Laurel, Michael, and Eric.
Visitation will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Terre Haute from 12pm-1pm on Saturday, February 7. A memorial service will follow at 1pm.
