Clay City, Indiana - CLAY CITY - Billie J. Haviland, 84, passed away January 5, 2026. Billie was born to the late Virgil and Lela (Johnson) Wilson on August 23, 1941 in Spencer.

When Billie was 18, she married the love of her life, Robert P. Haviland. Robert preceded her in death in 2006. Billie worked at RCA and Medco Jewelry for some time, but was a homemaker for much of her life. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting dolls, and spending time with her cats. She attended Union Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Clay City and then the Lewis 7th Day Adventist Church after her health declined.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her son, Donnie Haviland: her nephew and long-term caregiver, Mark Defore; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

A visitation will be held Saturday, January 17, from 2-4 P.M. at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 East 8th Street in Clay City. A funeral service will begin at 4 P.M. Burial will follow at Beech Cemetery.
