Beverly Spear Obituary

Terre Haute, IN - TERRE HAUTE - Beverly Spear, 91, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Union Hospital. She was born on December 7, 1933, in Tecumseh, Nebraska to Ernest and Ruth (Horton) Spradley.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Spear; son, Rick Spear; and brothers, Wilber Spradley and Dale Spradley. She is survived by a nephew, Steven Spradley of Zionsville, and many good friends that became her family.

Beverly worked as a teacher, served as the Assistant Principal at West Vigo High School, became the Dean of Girls at Otter Creek, and later transitioned to Director of Student Services for the Vigo County School Corporation.

In accordance with Beverly's wishes, there will be no formal services. She will be laid to rest between her husband and son in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Beverly was passionate about giving back, in lieu of flowers she asked that memorial contributions may be made to the Dr. Richard Spear Memorial Scholarship fund or the Beverly Spradley Spear Secretary Scholarship fund at Indiana University or the Dr. Richard Spear Health and Human Services Scholarship fund or the Rick H. Spear Safety Management Scholarship fund at Indiana State University, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Shriners Hospital for Children.
