Beverly Ann Hartman Obituary
CLINTON - Beverly A. (Stalker) Hartman, 88, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Terre Haute Union Hospital. She was born at home in Rosedale, Parke County, Indiana on May 2, 1936, the daughter of the late Earl and Grace (Trout) Stalker.
Beverly graduated from Rosedale High School in 1954. After high school she married and lived in several different communities (always making lifelong friends along the way) before settling in Greentown, Indiana, to raise her family. During this time she worked at the Eastern Schools as a part-time aid and librarian. She was always present at all of her kids' sporting events, motorcycle races and activities. Eventually, she relocated back to Rosedale (and later Clinton) where she retired in 2006 from Rosedale Schools as head custodian.
Beverly enjoyed playing in her Bridge and Euchre clubs throughout the past 50 years. She was still playing bridge weekly up until her illness. She also enjoyed reading and of course her sporting events. She loved watching IU basketball, Chicago Cubs' baseball and professional women's and men's tennis as she was an accomplished tennis player herself back in the day.
Most of all she loved having all of her kids and grandkids at her house for gatherings, especially Labor Day weekend and Christmas time.
Beverly is survived by her two sons, Garry Hartman and Eric (Kathy) Hartman; and her daughter, Cara (Dan) McCoy; her grandchildren, Jacob Hartman, Alexis (Anthony) Daugherty, Abigail Hartman, Jeret McCoy, Andrew Hartman and Aydan Hartman; and her great-grandson, Simon Daugherty. She is also survived by her brother, Darrell Stalker; and sister, Karen Stutler; and one niece and 5 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bob Stalker; and daughter-in-law, Kerri Hartman.
Our family would like to give a special thanks to all of Mom's bridge friends for getting her to and from bridge and for always checking in on her, to Donna Brown for nursing Mom's legs and watering her flowers, to cousin Nancy Coletti for helping Mom whenever she needed you and to Joyce Maroney (Mom's best friend) for the daily 6:00 pm phone call that you and Mom have had for the last however many years. We are appreciative of all of you.
A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
