Dugger, Indiana - Bert F. Kearns, 91, of Dugger, Indiana, passed away with his loving wife by his side, on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Sullivan, Indiana. He was born on June 16, 1934 in Richmond, Kentucky to Raymond and Zelpha (Denham) Kearns. Bert married Bonnie J. (Bradfield) Kearns on October 27, 1954.

Bert made his career in the Air Force until 1973, receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. He proudly served his country in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Bert was a member of the Methodist Church of Doylesville, KY, American Legion Post #707 in Indianapolis, VFW Post #7098 in Richmond, KY, Loyal Order of Moose in Linton and Society of Automotive Engineers. He was an Educator at Lincoln Technical Institute, retiring in 2010.

Family left to cherish the memory of Bert includes: his wife, Bonnie Kearns; one son, Chris (Cimberli) Kearns of Bozeman, MT; grandchildren, Joshua, Ethan and Lucas Kearns; two brothers, Bernie Kearns of Kentucky and Randall Kearns of Florida.

Bert was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother, Garnett Kearns; two sisters, Ray Ellen Taylor and Jacquline Whalin.

Funeral services to honor the life of Bert will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Alan Borders and Jerry Carmichael officiating. Bert will be laid to rest in Marco Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
