Barbara Ruth Royer, 83, of Cory, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Springhill Village in Terre Haute. She was born in Clay County, on April 8, 1934, to the late Harlan and Sabina (Kester) French.

Barb graduated from Cory High School in 1952, and went on to marry Leroy Royer on Aug. 17 that same year. She worked as a beautician in her home as well as Davis Gardens.

Barb enjoyed gardening, caning, watching birds and doing carpentry work with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Royer; two brothers, James and the Rev. Ray French; and her granddaughter, Misti Bockhold.

Survivors include her husband, Leroy Royer of Cory; son, Thomas (Denise) Royer of Venice, Fla.; daughter, Tammy (James) Pogue of Cory; daughter-in-law, Jill Royerof Rosedale; grandchildren, Kevin (Cassie) Royer, Nicole (Brian) Wallace, Brandon Pogue, Jamie Royer, Jerri Royer, Christi (Jason) Busenbark, Jason Frazier, Jennifer Byrd and Kelsey Vermillion; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Cammie, Benjamin, Kailynn, Hanna, Landen, Henry, Lucas, Nora, Vivian, Jennifer, Josie, Jamesie, Gracie, Tate, and Brian James; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home, Brazil, with Pastor Judy Lints officiating and burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley. The family will accept friends for visitation on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
