Terre Haute, Indiana - Alta Mae Gregory, 89, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Providence Health Care Center. She was born on Jan. 29, 1929, in Terre Haute, to Earl Hoopingarner and Florence (Cottom) Hoopingarner.

Alta is survived by her sons, Thomas E. Gregory, William E. Gregory Jr. and Edward N. Gregory; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Gregory Sr.; brother, Earl "Buddy"; and sister, Agnes.

Alta worked at Kroger as a cashier and retired after 33-years of dedicated service. She was an avid lottery player and loved to play bingo with her granddaughters.

A funeral ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Lilly officiating. Per Alta's wishes, there will be no visitation. She will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at:
