Walter W. Milner, 86, of Rockville, died at 11:56 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017, in his residence. He was a farmer, a livestock buyer for Producers Marketing Associates and the owner and operator of the Rockville Sale Barn. He was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Terre Haute, to the late Harry Milner and Lydia Garrigus Milner.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Phyllis Boor Milner, whom he married Feb. 26, 1955, in Brazil; two sons, Randy (Tamra) Milner and Scott (Stacey) Milner of Rockville; two daughters, Terri Hammontree (Mike Hott) of Coatsville and Marti Veach (Dan Harmon) of Rockville; one brother, Bill Milner of Terre Haute; four sisters, Anna Mae Fagg of Brazil, Virginia Beck of Terre Haute, Kathryn King of Terre Haute and Carolyn Laning of Hilton Head, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Tiffani (Jared) Martin, Abigail Milner, Mackenzie Milner, Malorie (Nick) Volz, Kyle Hammontree, Tyler Milner and Treyton Milner; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Martin, Mason Martin and Paisli Volz.
He was a 1948 graduate of Glenn High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Paul Taylor Post 1752 and American Legion Fellenzer Post 48, both in Rockville.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 West Howard Street, Rockville. Visitation is from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gooch Funeral Home.
