HUTCHINSON, Kan. - Virginia Diane Shearon, 79, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Aug. 19, 1937, in Dodge City, to James D. Rogers and Viola (Kimzey) Rogers.
Virginia graduated from Dodge City High School in 1955, was a homemaker, and worked for several years in academic services at Indiana State University. She attended Crossroads Christian Church and enjoyed music, journaling and scrap booking.
On June 6, 1965, she married Kenneth Ray Shearon in Dodge City. He died Dec. 25, 2001.
Virginia is survived by sons, Michael Shearon and wife Tempie of Ann Arbor, Mich., Jeffrey Shearon and wife Marci of Hutchinson and Gregory Shearon and wife Stephanie of South Bend, Ind.; and grandchildren, Shelby Shearon, Jordan Shearon, Rachel Shearon, and Julia Shearon.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Joyce Meisel.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Pittman officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Washtenong Memorial Cemetery, Ann Arbor. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. today and Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads Christian Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson, KS 67501.
