Tammy Sue Jaeger, 54, of Terre Haute, passed away Aug. 21, 2017, at Union Hospital, following a long battle with poor health. She was born May 17, 1963, in O'Fallon, Ill., at Scott Air Force Base. She was the daughter of Jesse Altan Hill and Wilma Meadows Mullinix Hill. Tammy graduated from Terre Haute North High School. In 1980, she met Charles "Pete" Jaeger II and they have been together ever since.
As a young girl she attended 1st Baptist Church of North Terre Haute. She has also enjoyed going to church with her sister, at Christ Community Church. She has been very proud to have her brother pastor at Harmony United Methodist Church, which she was able to attend a few times.
In her work career she has been school secretary at DeVaney, Lost Creek, and West Vigo and last worked at Terre Haute North High School before her illness made it too difficult.
Tammy enjoyed being in her garden, feeding and watching the hummingbirds, being with family and dog sitting for her brother. She also was very proud to be "Scooter Grandma" to her little grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Pete Jaeger II of Terre Haute; children, Jesse Jaeger (Jo Elle) of Iowa, and Charles Jaeger of Carmel; grandchildren, Jonah and Alice Jaeger; one sister, Kathy Kellum (Bob) of Terre Haute; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Greg Mullinix (Janine), Mark Mullinix (Cathy), and Randy Hill (Mary), all of Brazil; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Rick Mullinix.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at French Funeral Home, in Brazil. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Mark Mullinix officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Post a note of condolence at:
