Tamera 'Tammy''s Story
Tamera "Tammy" Jones Dormans, RN, 57, of Anacortes, Wash., went to be with her Savior on Good Friday, April 14, 2017, following a valiant battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on Jan. 3, 1960, in Terre Haute, the daughter of Thomas P. and Jean (Spigler) Jones.
Tammy was a graduate of North Vigo High School and Indiana University School of Nursing, and following graduation, she pursued a career in ICU nursing. She married David W. Dormans, DDS, of Fort Wayne, on May 7, 1988. Tammy was loved by most everyone who knew her; her life was a gift to those who were fortunate to be her close friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother.
Tammy is survived by her husband, David W. Dormans; father, Thomas P. Jones; stepmother, Sharon V. Jones; sister, Kathryn J. Jones; aunt, Margaret "Peg" VanVooren; and other members of the Dormans family.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Broadway Christian Church, with burial at Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
