Sandra Jean Cagle, 72, of Brazil, passed away at home, March 28, 2017, following an extended illness. She was born in Clay County, on June 6, 1944, the daughter of William and Bonnie (Monnett) Evans.
Sandy graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1962. She married James Fletcher Cagle on Sept. 30, 1962. Shortly following graduation they moved to Reseda, Calif., where she worked for NASA and the United States Air Force. Several years later they moved back to the Midwest, where she worked for R.R. Donnelly, Jeff Spencer CPA, Kiddie Korner, Manpower, and Hamilton Center.
She and Jim were members of the Brazil First Christian Church. Sandy also was a member of Delta Theta Tau. In her free time she enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, and watching Indy and NASCAR racing.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bonnie Evans; a sister in infancy, Kathy Jo Evans; a grandson, Brayton Cagle, a brother, Timothy Evans; and her beloved poodle, Malachi.
She is survived by her husband, James Cagle of Brazil; a daughter, Cassandra Jo Smith of Brazil; two sons, James Fletcher Cagle Jr. and wife Lisa of Avon and Jason Brant Cagle and wife Holly of Martinsville, Ind.; grandchildren, Damon Smith, Jaron Cagle and fiancée Chelsea, Garrett Cagle, Caleb O'Laughlin and Brant Nicholas Cagle; and a great-grandson, Maverick Cagle.
