Samuel Dean Kellogg, 21, of Zionsville, went to his eternal home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2017. Sam was born on Oct. 16, 1995, in Escondido, Calif., to Jay Kellogg and Keli Smith.
After attending early elementary school in Oceanside, Calif., Sam and his brothers moved to Zionsville, Ind., in 2007, Sam moved back to California after his junior year of high school and graduated from Mira Costa in Oceanside, in the spring of 2014. Sam was a member of the Zionsville cross country and track teams his sophomore and junior years. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews in Indiana and California, skateboarding, music, and time at the beach, He was a great uncle, a caring friend who brought smiles to other's faces through laughter and compassion. Sam enjoyed his time working at The Stacked Pickle and Sanders Concrete while also working toward a degree in social services through Ivy Tech. He attended Resonate Church in Indianapolis and served on the parking lot team.
Sam is survived by his father, Jay Kellogg (Kelli Elliott-Kellogg) of Zionsville; his mother, Keli Smith of Valley Center, Calif.; his brother, Austin Kellogg and sister, Brandi Avila, all of Zionsville; and brother, Austin Brewer of Terre Haute; his grandparents, Dean and Karen Smith; grandmother, Jackie Maxwell; along with many other beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews in both Zionsville, California and New Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Joseph "Joey" Kellogg, who passed from this world too soon on July 8, 2016.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Sam's life on Thursday, June 22, 2017, from 5:30 until 8 p.m. at Connection Pointe Christian Church, 1800 N. Green Street, Brownsburg,Ind. Additional visitation will take place on Friday from 12 noon until 1 p.m. with the service to follow at 1 pm.
