Ronald's Story

Ronald Hammer Luther, 77, of Greencastle, passed away at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born July 23, 1939, to Walter Eugene Luther and Oral Mercedes Luther.
Survivors include his sister, Lois Rhoden; nieces, Lori Scott (Tim), Cindy Valentine (Donald), and Diane Cahoon; nephew, Steve Cahoon, (Kathy); and 18 great-nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Betty Cahoon and Donna Beaver; and nephews, Terry Boyle and Dennis Cahoon.
He enjoyed NASCAR Racing, coin collecting, golf and playing cards with his friends at the Moose Lodge. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, the Moose Lodge, and served as a volunteer at the senior center.
Ron was employed in the trucking industry for many years and retired after 10 years as a correctional officer.
Services will be held 2 p.m. today, April 28, 2017, at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, 602 E. Washington St., Greencastle, with the Rev. Buck Martin officiating.
