Roger's Story

Roger Dale White, 73, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017, in his home. He retired from the Knights of Columbus, where took care of maintenance for many years. He was born June 20, 1943, in Vigo County, to William Henry White and Mary Leona Oricks White Tucker.
Survivors include his best friend, Jim "Bud" Griffin; five sisters, Leona Maples, Catherine Gard, Flo Dickerson (Clarence), Mary Walden (Charles) and Terrie Cooper (Dave); a brother, Tom White (Dottie); two sisters-in-law, Mary Kay White and Pat White; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, James White, Timothy Paul Tucker, Bill White, Edward "Bud" White and Jack Snow; a sister, Nancy White; two brothers-in-law, William Gard and Howard Maples; two nieces, Cassie Dickerson and Jackie Sue Roberts; and one nephew, Henry White.
Roger enjoyed playing cards, going to the Goodwill Store, attending auctions, reading his Bible, spending time with friends and family and he loved dogs.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Pastor Buddy White officiating. According to his wishes, cremation has been scheduled after services. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial of his ashes will be at a later date in Bethesda Memorial Park.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Tammy Hinkle, Jim "Bud" Griffin and the nurses and staff of the Hospice of the Wabash Valley for the care they provided to Roger. The family also suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Roger White Memorial Fund with envelopes available in the funeral home. Friends and family are welcome to join Roger's family at the Dresser Church following the services for food, fellowship and to continue with the celebration of Roger's life.
