MARTINSVILLE, Ind. - Renee (Royal) Fisher, 38, of Martinsville, gained her angel wings while surrounded by loved ones at 5:38 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at the Hospice House in Bloomington, Ind. She was born to Carla (Smith) Royal on Saturday, May 12, 1979, in Harrisburg, Ill.
Renee spent her younger years in Brazil and Terre Haute, Ind., moving to Martinsville approximately 15 years ago. She graduated from Northview High School in Brazil with the class of 1997 and earned a degree in nursing from Med Tech College. Serving and caring for others prompted her decision to become a nurse and she loved every minute of it. She had worked for the MSD of Martinsville as a school nurse and for St. Francis Hospital in Mooresville.
Renee loved to travel, spend time at the beach, go antiquing and collect antique fans. She also had a love for country music and would seek out country artists to get their autograph. Her greatest love was undeniably spending time with her family and loyal poodle, Sophie.
She was a member of Oak Hill Community Church in Terre Haute and she and her family had been attending River Valley Christian Church in Martinsville for the past several years.
Renee is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Troy S. Fisher, whom she married on Aug. 30, 1997, in Terre Haute, Ind.; son, Walker Fisher; and daughter, Maci Fisher, all of Martinsville; her mother, Carla Royal; and brother, James Nicholas (wife, Brittney) Capehart, all of Shawneetown, Ill.; stepsisters, Christy Commarford and Shelley Albers of St. Augustine, Fla.; in-laws, Rick and Debi Fisher of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a service celebrating Renee's life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at the Union Christian Church, 5350 E. Hulman Drive in Terre Haute. Visitation will be immediately prior to the service beginning at 9 a.m. at the church.
Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Fisher Children college fund at Home Bank in Martinsville. Checks can be made payable the fund and mailed to Neal and Summers, 110 E. Poston Road, Martinsville, IN 46151.
