Misti Dawn Mills, 45, of Terre Haute, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017, at Indiana University Methodist Hospital. Misti was born on March 6, 1972, in Terre Haute, to Michael Mills and Dianna Phillips Mills.
Misti was a member of Christ Temple Church and a 1990 graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School. Misti was lifelong advocate for animal rights; she loved all animals and was always concerned for their health and well-being. She was also an advocate for breast cancer awareness. She enjoyed collecting snow globes and angels. Most importantly, she loved her children and family and was known for her big heart.
She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Mills, who passed away in 1975. She is survived by her mother, Dianna Phillips Mills of Terre Haute; her stepfather, John Bickel of Terre Haute; and one son, Ethan Carpenter and his companion Kayla Frederick, both of Terre Haute.
She is survived by one daughter, Hailey Williams of Terre Haute. Misti is survived by her companion, Martin William II of Terre Haute. She is survived by five grandchildren, Destynie Carpenter, Malachi Carpenter, Sadie Carpenter, Xavier Carpenter and Braxton Carpenter. Misti is also survived by two aunts, Carol Bickel and Beverly Hamilton of Terre Haute; as well as an uncle, Stephen Bickel, also of Terre Haute.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., Terre Haute, Ind. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. (noon) until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Merrill Weir and Rev. Daniel Batchelor will be officiating. Burial will be in Durham Cemetery.
