Madelyn Bussing Hendrix, 79, of Dana, Indiana, died at 5:35 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Clinton Gardens. She was a homemaker and formerly worked in several offices for the Vermillion County Courthouse. She was born April 11, 1938, in Clinton, Indiana, to the late John Bussing and Agnes Murphy Bussing.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Max Hendrix, whom she married Dec. 4, 1982, in Terre Haute; also surviving, one son, R.J. (Kathi) Saxton of Porter; four daughters, Cristy (Mitch) Douglas of Indianapolis, Tracy (John) Haag of Evansville, Felicia (Mike Fierst) Hogue of Indianapolis and Stephanie (Rob) Sims of Brownsburg; one sister, Betty Jo Brown of Jeffersonville; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Bussing; and two sisters, Anna M. Fravel and Gertrude Corley.
She was a 1956 graduate of Dana High School. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockville and the Dames Club.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 8, at Overpeck-Gooch Funeral Home, 225 N. Maple St., Dana, with Father Varghese Maliakkal and celebrant Marta K. Adubato officiating. Burial will follow at Bono Cemetery, Dana. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at Overpeck-Gooch Funeral Home.
