Linda S. Amburgey, 69, of West Terre Haute, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family at 9:48 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017, after a lengthy illness. For many years she assisted with the operation of Amburgey Auto Sales and Body Shop. She was born Nov. 18, 1947, in Vigo County, to Raymond Hoffman and Mary Hagar Hoffman.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Clarence Amburgey, whom she married on Sept. 27, 1969, in the First United Methodist Church in West Terre Haute; three daughters, Tammy Kernstein and her husband Jerry of Clinton, Pamela Walker Amburgey of Terre Haute and Lisa Roberts and her husband T.J. of West Terre Haute; a brother, Larry Hoffman and his wife Sandy of Terre Haute; a sister, Nancy Huffington of Terre Haute; a brother-in-law, Jim Leclercq of Shelbyville; nine grandchildren, Jordan and Breanna Kernstein, Tyler and Katherine Cordova, Jayton and Linlee Hulett, Dakota, Avery and Bryson Roberts; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Wiscaver and Paislee Cordova; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Elaine Leclercq.
Linda loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services in honor of her life will be 12 noon Saturday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Roush officiating. She will be laid to rest in Shirley Cemetery in Universal. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and prior to services Saturday.
