Joan Stewart - Kauffman, 80, of Bradenton, Fla., and formerly of Terre Haute, Ind., passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017. She was born on Jan. 21, 1937, in Terre Haute, to Harold Sutherland and Agnes Thomson.
Survivors include her daughter, Lori Calderone and her husband Rick Calderone of Bradenton; two sons, Stu Stewart and his companion Brian Nees and Mark Stewart and fiancée Jennifer Hoffman, all of Bradenton; four grandchildren, Kyle Calderone and Chelsea Calderone and Zach and Zoe Stewart, all of Bradenton; and two great-grandchildren, Madalyn and Cohen Calderone of Bradenton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; also deceased husbands, Delbert Kauffman and Paul Stewart.
Joan was a graduate of Garfield High School and Indiana State University. She was a retired art teacher. She loved to paint, go to the beach, and listen to music.
According to her wishes, cremation is scheduled and there are no services. The family suggests that if friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to: Bishop Animal Shelter, 5718 21st Ave. West, Bradenton, FL 34209.
