Cornelia B. (Geabes) Ley, 97, passed away March 19, 2017, at her home in Greencastle. She was born Sept. 10, 1919, to Arthur Morgan Geabes and Helen Mae (Ash) Geabes in Greencastle.
She married the love of her life, Earl (Bud) Ley of Clay City on May 14, 1947. They were married for 66 years until his death in May 2013.
Cornelia's work career included jobs in Greencastle, Clay City and retirement from General Housewares in Terre Haute. She was a dedicated reader of Westerns and player of solitaire.
Cornelia was a member of the United Methodist Church and a 60-year-member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in Clay City.
Besides her husband and parents, Cornelia was preceded in death by her siblings, Wayne Geabes, Virginia Hetser and Doris Stites.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Kenneth) Conklin; granddaughter, Christi (David) McClain; grandson, Jeffrey Conklin; great-grandchildren, Anna Koebcke, Nathan Koebcke, and Myra McClain; sister-in-law, Nadine Brock; and several nieces and nephews.
