Harold Leroy Gray, 91, passed away at 4:47 p.m. March 5, 2017, in his home. He was born March 16, 1925, in Brazil, to John Gray and Iva Rose Gray.
Harold retired after 35 years as a brakeman conductor from Conrail. He was a former member of the Shriners, a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II, and an avid wood craftsman. He loved being outside, and enjoyed listening to country music.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Helen; his parents; sons, Jerry Gray and Rhett Gray; four sisters; and three brothers.
He is survived by daughters, Vicki Harlan and her husband Dennis, Shelli McPherson, and Lisa Boyd and her husband Dean; grandchildren, Tina Johnson, Tim Winters and his wife Julie, Brye Winters and his wife Kari, Michael, JR Gray, April Garrett and her husband Chris, Stephen Gray, and Laken Ben Shushan and her husband Shimon; several great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Connie; and companion, Phyllis Clements.
Services for Harold will be Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 8, 2017, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park with military rites by the American Legion Post 104.
