Frank C. Barkley, 89, of Terre Haute, Ind., passed away 10 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at his residence. He was a retired electrician having been a member of IBEW Local 725 for over 60 years. Frank was born April 12,1928, in Farina, Ill., the son of Clarence L. Barkley and Catherine I. Wyrick Barkley. He married Alice R. Allen on Jan. 20,1948 and she preceded him in death Feb. 9,1995.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Barkley and Robert "Red" Barkley; and two sisters, Betty Evitt and Kitty Higginbotham.
Surviving are a son, Danny D. (Sue) Barkley of Ava, Mo.; a daughter, Sherrie L. (Norman) Cheesman of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Elise (Jimmy) Kellar, Michelle (Philip) Shuman, Brandon (Gina) Barkley, Allen Cheesman and David Cheesman; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jane Angle of Marshall; and a brother, Tom Barkley of Marshall.
He was a member of Marshall Lodge 133 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and loved the outdoors.
Services in honor of his life will be 2 p.m. CDT Wednesday at Pearce Funeral Home, Marshall, with Pastor Vince McFarland officiating. Burial will be in Marshall Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be 12 noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
