David Lee Martin, 63, of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at Union Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on Jan. 14, 1954, in Marion, to Carl and Gwen (Grigsby) Martin.
David is survived by his wife of 35 years, Claudia (O'Neill) Martin; son, Adam Martin and wife Ashley; grandchildren, Peyton and Kinsley Martin; a brother, Bill Booth and wife Shirley; sisters, Rachel Smith, Audrey Ailes, Carrol Hagerman and Dolores Perry; aunt, Donna Parsons; and several nieces and nephews. He also is survived by his longtime friend, George Peak, whom he worked with in his younger days but always stayed in touch.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Judy White and Betty Meinheartt.
David enjoyed working with wood,fixing things and was especially handy around the house. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and animal lover, providing a home to many unwanted dogs and cats through the years. Most of all David loved to spend time with his family, and doted on his two granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at Roselawn Funeral Home. Casual blue jean attire is welcome. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. David will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Terre Haute Humane Society with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
