Clyde's Story

Clyde "Mickey" Wilson, 82, of Indianapolis, and formerly of Brazil, passed away at IU Health North, April 5, 2017. Mickey was born Sept. 7, 1934, in Clay County, Ind., the son of Blanche B.L. Pete and Zona (Cagle) Wilson.
He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1952. Following high school Mickey worked at Allison's and Twigg Industries. In 1967 he founded Tek Corporation which later became Wilson-Tek Corporation. Among Mickey's many ventures and successes he held three U.S. Patents in preparing and belling thermoplastic pipe with thickened walls. Mickey closed the company in 1986. Following retirement from Wilson-Tek he worked as an engineer for Aero Fab, in Indianapolis, before retiring completely. Owning and operating Wilson-Tek afforded Mickey the opportunity to travel all over the world.
Mickey enjoyed playing golf and fishing. He was an accomplished artist and especially enjoyed drawing photos of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Later in life he taught himself to play the piano. He enjoyed this talent through the end of his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Geneva Wilson, Babe Roeschlein, Nellie Francis, John Wilson, Jimmy Wilson, Melvin Wilson, Clifford Wilson and Bob Wilson; and a beloved pet companion, Abby.
He is survived by his wife Peggy "Joan" (Alfred) Wilson, whom he married June 4, 1953; three children, Lynn Wilson of Carmel, Greg Wilson of Terre Haute, and Joni Wilson of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Mandy Stevens (Pat), Brian Wilson (Amy), Sarrah Stafford, Chris Wilson, Matthew Stafford, Jordan Wilson, Zach Wilson and Arika Scott (Jason); great-grandchildren, Annabella Stevens, Georgia Stevens, Tallulah Stevens, Waylon Wilson, Trace Wilson, Justin Stafford, Ava Stafford, Zandynn Wilson, Zayven Wilson and Zenleigh Wilson; a brother, Joe Wilson (Patty); and a brother-in-law, Dale Alfred of Brazil; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., Brazil, Saturday, April 8, 2017, from 4 until 7 p.m. A celebration of life will be 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 6500 Technology Center Drive, #100 46278, Zionsville, IN 46077 or the American Lung Association 115 W.
