Christine's Story

Christine Diane Stevens passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was born Oct. 26, 1963, in Terre Haute, Ind.
Chris graduated from Terre Haute North Vigo High School in 1981. After high school Chris enlisted in the United States Army and traveled to many countries including Germany. Chris earned her surgical technologist certification at Metro Technology Center in Oklahoma City, Okla.
She began working at Baptist Medical Center on April 19, 1995, on the same day as the Oklahoma City bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, and was a major asset to the neurosurgical team. Chris and her husband began a furniture installation business together in 2000.
Chris is survived by her husband of 27 years, Stacie Pete Stevens of Oklahoma City, Okla.; stepson, Dustin Wheeler, and daughter-in-law, Sara Avenatti; grandson, Xavier Wheeler of Clinton, Ind.; father and stepmother, Donald and Deanna Lammey of Sevierville, Tenn.; stepfather, Bob Morlan of Terre Haute, Ind.; several siblings including Rob Morlan (Dana) of Terre Haute, Ind., Chris Miller (Leslie) of Terre Haute, Ind., Becky Kieffner (Scott) of Bloomington, Ind., Jon Lammey (Charlea) of Morristown, Tenn., and Kathy Sutton (Steve) of Sevierville, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Wanda Haney of Terre Haute; brother-in-law, J.C Ford of Oklahoma City; brother-in-law, Tim Conrad of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Everette Stevens of Terre Haute, Ind.; sister-in-law, Jane Banta of Terre Haute, Ind.; sister-in-law, Violet Watson of Indianapolis, Ind.; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Roberta Morlan; and grandparents, George and Irene Cesinger, and Al and Hellen Lammey.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Absolute Economical Funeral Home, 7721 NW 10th St., Suite B, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at Life Church, 9001 N. Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, Okla.
