Blanche Louella Collins Gossman Channel, 99, of Terre Haute, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, in Kindred Southwood Health Center. She was a potter for Hull Pottery. Blanche was born June 6, 1917, in Buchtel, Ohio, to Harley Collins and Emma (Preston) Collins.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie J. Smith; grandsons, John Harris, Kirk Harris (Patti), Mic Smith (Pam), Steve Smith (Angie), Rich Smith (Cathy) and Matt Smith (Angela); granddaughter, Theresa Hemrich (Larry); a brother, Bill Collins; a sister, Betty McKahan; 23 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Banjo Gossman; her second husband, Ron Channel; brothers, Raymond and Frank Collins; sister, Glenna Gossman; grandson, Dwight Harris; son-in-law, Michael Smith; and great-grandson, C.J. Weck.
Blanche was a member of the Moose Lodge. She also enjoyed dancing and loved to gamble, especially horse races.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017, in Oak Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Rick Swan officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. DeBaun Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Online condolances may be left at:
