Aaron's Story

Aaron G. Brown, 89, passed away Oct. 11, 2017, at Meadows Manor East in Terre Haute. He was born April 23, 1928, to Lester G. Brown and Lizzie R. Brown, in West Terre Haute.
He attended Valley High School. At age 17 he joined the Army Air corps, where he severed for three years. Upon being honorably discharged in 1949, he married his childhood sweetheart, Monna Marie McGinnes. He served in the United States Navy for 1 ½ years during the Korean War. He was a 20-year employee of Ethyl Visqueen Corporation. After retiring he owned and operated his own business, Lock Stock and Barrel. Aaron enjoyed volunteering as a chaplain's assistant at Union Hospital for 15 years. Aaron had many hobbies over the years, but his most enjoyable one was fishing with his wife, Monna.
He is survived by his wife, Monna Marie Brown; his three wonderful sons, David A. Brown and wife Debby, Richard G. Brown and Thomas A. Brown and wife Karri; his sister, Margaret Gough and husband Richard; his brother-in-law, Larry McGinnes and wife Tillie; his nephew, Mike McGinnis; nephews, John Haley and Mike Haley; and his niece, Dawn Kasemeyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Doyle Haley.
Aaron was a member of the Eighth Avenue Baptist Church, where he was saved and baptized. He also was a member of World Gospel Church for many years.
Aaron has chosen cremation with no service or visitation. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th St., Terre Haute, was entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences can be made at:
