Warren Gale's Story

CASEY, Ill. - Warren Gale Briggs, age 81, of Casey, passed away at 5:39 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Casey Health Care Center, Casey. He was born Dec. 27, 1936, in Clark County, the son of Lester Eugene Briggs and Marguerite Short Briggs. On May 27, 1961, he married Jennifer Yvonne Collinson in Rapid City, S.D.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Y. Briggs of Casey; son, Wayne Briggs of Terre Haute, Ind; daughter, Debby Hutton (David) of Casey; son, Todd Briggs of Casey; siblings, Kenneth Briggs (Karen) of Broken Arrow, Okla.; Evalyn Gross of Martinsville; Larry Briggs (Kathy) of Tulsa, Okla.; Lee Briggs (Debbie) of Rantoul, and Lisa Briggs of Paris; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Warren was retired after serving his country in the US Air Force from 1956 - 1976. He was a Vietnam War veteran and traveled extensively while serving his country. He served on the Johnson Township Board for three years.
Private family funeral services will be conducted. Burial will follow in the Butternut Cemetery, rural Martinsville.
